Pandora A/S (often laid out PANDORA ) is a Danish international jewelry and retailer established in 1982 by Per Enevoldsen. The company started out as a family-run jewelry store in Copenhagen.
Pandora is known for its adjustable charm bracelets, designer rings, necklaces and watches (now discontinued). The company has a production site in Thailand and markets its products in more than 100 countries on 6 continents with over 7,700 points of sale.

History
Pandora was founded in 1982 by Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie Enevoldsen. The couple started on a small scale by importing jewelry from Thailand and selling it to consumers. After a successful wholesale venture, in 1989 Enevoldsen hired an in-house designer and set up a manufacturing site in Thailand, where he was still located. With low production costs and an efficient supply chain, Enevoldsens can provide affordable and hand-equipped jewelry for the mass market. Pandora's collection grew to include rings, necklaces, earrings and watches. Pandora began selling its signature bracelet in 2000 after patents and several years of development.
Denmark's private equity group, Axcel, bought 60% of the company's shares from the Enevoldsen family in 2008. DKK 9,96 billion ($ 1.84 billion) was sold in The IPO in October 2010, one of the largest IPOs in Europe that year, gave Pandora a market capitalization of approximately DKK 27 billion . The company is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen Stock Exchange in Denmark and is a component of the Copenhagen OMX index of 20.
Pandora became the third largest jewelry company in the world in terms of sales, after Cartier and Tiffany & amp; Co. In 2011, more than one Pandora jewelry was sold every second. Shares fell by almost 80% in 2011 after a shift in focus to higher final design alienate core customers, but the performance recovered after returning to a more affordable mass market, with the group reporting DKK revenues of 11.9 billion and net profit of over DKK 3 billion in 2014.

Pandora brand sales began in Europe and first entered North America in 2003. The company opened a worldwide concept store before the franchise model began in Australia in 2009. Pandora's products are sold in more than 100 countries on six continents through approximately 7,700 points of sale , including about 2,200 concept stores. The company employs over 22,300 people, of which 13,200 are located in Gemopolis, Thailand, the only manufacturing company since 1989.
Pandora launched its online sales platform in Europe in 2011, and began working to expand e-commerce to the majority of its markets including Australia.
Europe and the United States accounted for nearly 90% of group sales in 2014. The group announced China's distribution deal in 2015, with plans to increase the number of stores to "several hundred" in China. In 2015, the company bought Oracle Investment shares in China's distribution service.
