Format
Tabatha Take Over begins with Tabatha meeting with the business owner he is going to take over; at Seasons 1 to 3, this is just a hair salon, but in Season 4, other struggling small businesses are featured (including gay bars, frozen yogurt rooms, and dog/dog care facilities). During discussions about business circumstances, Tabatha and the owner (s) watch surveillance records that always reveal poor management, unprofessional staff behavior, and uncomfortable/disgruntled clients; Tabatha demands the key to business and takeover begins. Tabatha entered the business with the owner (s), informed the staff that he would take over and called them about what he had seen; he told them that some staff might be in danger of losing their jobs. He then requested a tour ("Inspection"), usually finding it dirty, unclean, and disorganized. He called staff meetings for the next day, where he got their point of view. After the staff meeting he brought in a client so he could assess the staff work ("The Assessment"). At the end of the second day, she sits with the owner and talks about what she thinks should be changed. The third day usually consists of building a team or marketing a business and the beginning of a renovation. This renovation takes about 3 days. On the last day, "Reopening" takes place, where the salon starts again and Tabatha assesses their improvement within a week. At the end of the day, he gives the "Final Recommendation" to the owner, announces to the staff the owner's decision (s) and returns the key to the owner. After a few weeks, Tabatha returns to see how/if the business has changed.
