Indonesia, Etc: Exploring a Viewable Nation is a travel book published in June 2014.

This book follows Elizabeth Pisani, an epidemiologist, in her journey across Indonesia in 2012-2013. He visited Sumba, Flores, Sulawesi, Maluku Islands, Sumatra, Borneo, and Java, but not New Guinea. He mostly visited smaller towns and villages, many of whom only saw a few tourists. Along the way, he discusses the latest Indonesian history, culture, politics and economy, as well as the logistics of his journey and the people he met during that time.

Among the themes of this book is the conflict between Java (which holds 60% of the Indonesian population) and the whole country. According to Pisani, Indonesia's elite is dominated by Javanese, especially from Jakarta, and Java dominates the image outside Indonesia. In an effort to counter this bias, Pisani spends most of her time on other small islands.

Indonesia, Etc. received generally favorable reviews, and was listed among the best non-fiction books of the year by The Economist and by The Wall Street Journal . The Guardian provided Indonesia, Etc. positive reviews, describing it as "a project [ing] a more upbeat and warm picture of an interesting country than most outside commentators". On the other hand, The New York Times provides generally negative reviews, noting that "the book does not really wrestle with Java or some of the other densest Indonesian islands".
