Hard Rock Lake Tahoe (formerly Sahara Tahoe , High Sierra , Horizon Lake Tahoe and Park Tahoe ) is a hotel and casino located in Stateline, Nevada. Also previously known as Sahara Tahoe and High Sierra resorts, this is one of four major casino hotels in Stateline. Horizon Lake Tahoe closed on April 1, 2014, to begin remodeling and rebranding worth $ 60 million as Hard Rock Lake Tahoe, which held a grand opening on January 28, 2015.

Sahara Tahoe (1965-1983)

In 1983, the hotel was given a Western theme and branded High Sierra Hotel and in 1985 hosted the companies that defined High Sierra Format, the basis of how computers accessed CD-ROMs today.

In 1990, it was sold to Columbia Sussex, which re-branded the hotel again as Horizon. Columbia Sussex (leaseholder) is in a contract dispute with Park Cattle Company (now Edgewood Companies), Horizon and MontBleu landowners (formerly known as Caesars Tahoe), obtained by Columbia Sussex from Harrah's Entertainment (now Caesars Entertainment Corporation) in 2005.
On May 5, 2009, Tropicana Entertainment announced that it has commissioned Horizon leasing, operations and management to Lake Tahoe Realty I, LLC. an affiliate of Columbia Sussex, under the terms for Horizon rental assignment establishes the ongoing operation of the unlimited game at Horizon.
Park Tahoe (2014)
In March 2014, it was announced that the rental of Lake Tahoe Realty to operate the hotel/casino had expired on March 31, 2014 and was not updated. The Park Companies took over the property under an LLC known as "NevaOne" and closed its property on April 1, 2014 to begin a $ 40 million top-to-bottom shuffle. NevaOne has been contracted with Las Vegas-based Warner Hospitality to operate hotels and casinos. They operate Hard Rock Las Vegas and have built and run hotels/casinos across the country. In July 2014, the Park family announced that the former Horizon would be renamed Hard Rock, to open on January 28, 2015, after a massive renovation.
(2016-present) Paragon Gaming acquires Neva One LLC with a land spanning 23 hectares next to Lake Tahoe and features 539 hotel rooms, 500 slot machines and 34 table games. They are the only big casino in South Lake Tahoe that owns the land where they sit.
