White Shoes & amp; the Couples Company is an Indonesian pop band from Jakarta, Indonesia. The band is currently signed for both Indonesian label Aksara Records and an independent American label Chicago based Minty Fresh. Their music was influenced by the soundtrack of Indonesian films from the 1970s, 1930s jazz and 1960s pop music.

White Shoes & amp; The Couples Company consists of Aprilia Apsari, Saleh, Yusmario Farabi, John Navid, Ricky Virgana, and Aprimela Prawidiyanti. Apsari and Farabi met each other while they both studied at the faculty of fine arts at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts (Jakarta Art Institute). Both formed the band with their counterpart, Saleh in 2002. In 2004, Ricky Virgana, John Navid and Aprimela Prawidiyanti (wife of Ricky Virgana) merged. The band came up with the name because of the fashion wearing white shoes at the school where they met. The band sang most of the songs in Indonesian.
In 2005, the band released their self-titled album on Aksara Records. In 2007, they released an EP titled Young Scenario in 2007. Finally, the band was signed by Minty Fresh, and re-released their self-titled album for an international release.
The band is honored by Rolling Stone as one of the 25 best bands on MySpace. They were also honored by Allmusic as one of the 25 most successful bands of 2006.
