Batik Air is the scheduled Indonesia airline that made its maiden flight in May 2013 from Jakarta to Manado.

Histori
Lion Air, the parent company of Batik Air, created Batik Air as a full-service airline that started operations in May 2013 using a Boeing 737-900ER leased from Lion Air. Batik Air 737-900ERs is equipped with two class seats, replacing the 737-900ER one class Lion Air service. Batik Air provides private television (in-flight entertainment system) in every seat, snack and free meal, 32-inch (81 cm) seating for economy class and 45 inch (114 cm) for business class and free luggage allowance of 20kg ( 44 pounds) for economy class and 30 kg (66 pounds) for business class. In mid-2012, Lion Air signed a commitment with Boeing for five 787 Dreamliners for Batik Air, which intends to ship it by 2015. Lion Air later canceled this deal and temporarily suspended its plans for Batik Air's long-distance expansion.

On Monday 18 March 2013 Lion Air ordered 234 Jet A320 with Airbus, all orders will be allocated for Batik Air.
Incidents and accidents
- On November 6, 2015, Batik Air Flight 6380, Boeing 737-9GP (ER) PK-LBO, stormed the runway when landing with 100 meters at Yogyakarta Airport causing the collapsed nose teeth. 16 injuries were reported.
- On April 4, 2016, Batik Air Flight 7703, operated by Boeing 737-8GP (WL) with registration PK-LBS, collided with ATR-42-600 aircraft at take-off from runway 24 at Jakarta-Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport ( HLP), Indonesia. ATR-42-600, operated by TransNusa and registered in PK-TNJ, is being towed. No casualties were reported.
