2008-14: Beginning career
Starting as a record producer, G-Eazy began working on many singles when he was a student at Loyola University in New Orleans with his producer Christoph Andersson who was also a student there. She later gained some recognition for being part of a new hip hop scene in the East Bay Area, joining artists such as Lil B, Crohn and The Cataracs. During his early years, he became a member of a local hip hop group, called "The Bay Boyz", which has released several songs on their official Myspace page. In 2010, G-Eazy began to gain popularity when he was given the opportunity to open some famous artists, especially Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
The G-Eazy Mixtape of this period of time is filled with limited success. In August 2011, she released The Endless Summer through her official website. This mixtape takes samples of a number of songs, most notably the latest version of US hit track No. 1. 1 of 1961, "Runaround Sue", performed by Dion DiMucci. The song garnered over four million views via YouTube. The music video for "Runaround Sue" (featuring Devon Baldwin) was directed by Tyler Yee. On June 16, 2012, G-Eazy performed all dates in the United States on the annual Vans Warped Tour. On July 25, 2012, the Excellence Adventure Tour was announced, featuring Hoodie Allen and G-Eazy. Both are conducted in cities across the US, including Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Columbus, Des Moines, New Orleans, Atlanta, Austin, and Philadelphia. On September 26th, 2012, G-Eazy released her first full-length album, Must Be Nice . The album, which is completely independent of the label, landed at number 3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart. On July 9, 2013, G-Eazy, along with 2 Chainz, opened for Lil Wayne's "America's Most Wanted Tour". On December 15, 2013, G-Eazy and Master Chen B did "Lotta That" from These Things Happened in New York City. On January 15, 2014, G-Eazy announced "These Things Happen Tour" with Rockie Fresh, KYLE, and Tory Lanez accompanying him. The tour lasts for 40 stops across the United States and Canada from February to April 2014.
2014-2016: These Things Happened and Currently Dark Out
On June 23, 2014, G-Eazy released his major-label debut album, These Things Happen . This album topped the album charts Billboard Hip-Hop/R & amp; B and Top Rap Albums, also gave him the # 3 spot on the US Billboard 200 and the Top Digital Album Ladder. The album has sold nearly 265,000 copies to date. On October 21, 2014, Gillum embarked on a "From the Bay to the Universe" tour. This tour travels around the world to countries like Australia and New Zealand. This is his first headlining tour abroad.
During the summer of 2015, G-Eazy played several major stages in a series of famous music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Made in America, and Austin City Limits. With the rise of his musical career, Gillum was also interested in fashion by releasing a collaboration with Rare Panther in the fall of 2015 and was named the top 10 GQ Magazine magazine in New York Fashion Week. Gillum's second album, When It's Dark Out , was released on December 4, 2015. On January 6, 2016, G-Eazy launched his second world tour. The tour will see G-Eazy crossing the United States, Europe, and Australia. The single "Me, Myself & amp; I", in collaboration with Bebe Rexha, peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
He co-hosted an Endless Summer tour with rapic Logic colleagues, along with supporters of YG and Yo Gotti, from June to August. Before the tour, he announced his new mixtape, Endless Summer II. He canceled the tape because of a problem with the sample permission. In May 2016, G-Eazy confirmed that he will be performing on Britney Spears single "Make Me...". The single was released on July 15, 2016, and serves as the lead single from Spears's ninth studio album.
G-Eazy features "Make Me..." and "Me, Myself & amp; I" with Spears at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and iHeartRadio 2016 Music Festival.
=== 2017: Step Brothers and The Beautiful & amp; Damned & amp; Endless Summer II Gillum released an EP with Guatemala DJ Carnage named Step Brothers on March 27, 2017. She is currently working on her third label album. G-Eazy released her new single, a collaboration with Kehlani singer called "Good Life", which is part of the eighth installment of The Fast and the Furious movie franchise, titled The Fate of the Furious . She is also featured in the new Dillon Francis single titled "Say Less".
On June 14, 2017, G-Eazy announced via Instagram and Twitter that the next studio album, The Beautiful & Damned , will be released in fall 2017. On November 8, 2017, the official release day is announced as December 15th, as well as an accompanying short film.
On December 5, 2017, G-Eazy released their second single from The Beautiful & amp; Damned titled "Him & amp; I" (with Halsey). It became a big hit among G-Eazy and Halsey fans. Since then, the couple had a relationship. They performed the song together on New Year's Eve Rockin 'Eve of Dick Clark Eve of 2017.
Legal issues
On May 2, 2018, Gillum was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden on suspicion of assault, possession of narcotics and the use of narcotics, after he allegedly punched a security guard and was found to have cocaine in his pocket. Gillum pleaded guilty to violent resistance, possession of narcotics, and attacks on an official in court on May 4. He was sentenced to trial, and ordered to pay a $ 10,000 fine and a $ 900 compensation fee to the security guard he attacked.
